pattern for a bias cut dress

yoyoma | Posted in Patterns on

Does anyone know a formula for making a pattern for a bias cut dress? I know that if the material really stretches when hung you have to make up for that stretch in the pattern.
Thanks for any help!

You will have to look it up in Archives, but I'm pretty sure Threads addressed this issue with an article a couple of years ago.  Galey

Marcey Tilton did some articles about this and all I can remember is that you need to keep it simple and have 11/2 inch seam allownces along the sides and any other verticle seams .

    Hello,

One chapter of "Patternmaking for Fashion Design" by Helen JOSEPH-ARMSTRONG is devoted to bias. It's entitled "Patternmaking for Bias-Cut Dresses".
