Pattern for a man’s Shirt

happygrand | Posted in General Discussion on

Hi All, I’m looking for a shirt pattern, without buttons, for my husband.  It’s for a dance routine and the material is sequins so it would be better without buttons.  Is there such a pattern out there?  Thanks for any suggestions!!

can you be more specific about style and your fabric? is your fabric stretchy? does the shirt have to be fitted, possibly using a zipper? romantic sleeves (full) or standard?

Hi, no the fabric is not stretchy.  It's a sort of glitter and I was thinking of something that would go over the head, slit at neck and slits and bottom.  I'm trying to avoid using button and button holes.  Thanks.

if that's the case, i suggest you browse in the 'costume' section of the big pattern company catalogs, online or in the store.what you described is not a standard men's shirt, but you will find plenty of choices in the costume pages. some will be unisex. please come back and let us know what you did!

Hello Happygrand, may I suggest Kwik sew .com - try looking at all the men's sections, I think you'll find something suitable. Best wishes, ella

Hi Ella, will do that.  I had planned to check the pattern counter tomorrow.  Thank you.
