I am going to jump in here with my comments, but I think this is something you will ultimately have to decide for yourself. I have Pattern Master Boutique by Wild Ginger. I bought it about 1 1/2 years ago. I used it extensively during the 90 day trial trying to get a sloper/muslin to fit. I never did like the way the armholes fit and never got a successful garment. I did get a pants sloper that sort of fit. I did not like the back crotch, however. Fast forward to a 35 pound weight lost...I started over with the pants sloper since I was in desperate need of pants. Had the same problem with the back crotch on the sloper and after making 6 pairs of pants, I gave up.
I find the software easy to use, even the Pattern Editor that allows you to freehand changes. The program comes with what is called the Style Editor that allows you to pick and choose all kinds of variations for your garments.
My problem may be the measurements, but I don't think so. My DH does them for me and he isn't a tailor or seamstress, so I have to tell him how each step of the way. I put paper dots all over me so that he measures from the same spot each time.
Since I have a working knowledge of pattern drafting, I find the software easy to understand for the most part. I don't think you can be a beginning sewer and use pattern drafting software. You have to know how to put the garment together that you create.
Mary, this is the second time I've noticed you here on the board again. So good to see you. I've missed seeing familiar names. It was always such a fun place..........................
Forgot to mention nina67, that Pattern Master Boutique can be used in inches or centimeters.
