I’m looking for a pattern for a mens pullover lightweight (fleece) jacket. I’ve never sewn mens clothes before and would like to make my size 2X husband a pullover similar to a favorite one he has. Thanks

Men's clothes are really no more difficult than any others. I've been making clothes for my husband and sons for many years. These two sites may have things you can use. I like to look at all the pattern companies on their websites and then get the pattern at the store.

Kwik Sew 2531 (http://www.kwiksew.com/Cold_Fusion/catalog/Frame_New.cfm) is my favorite pattern for this type of garment. It is an excellent pattern that yields professional results. The binding is done with lycra swimsuit fabric and makes for a very sharp finish. The pattern is available up to XXL.

Once you get one of those patterns, you can check it against the one he already has so that the new one will become a favorite, too. Don't be surprised if the changes you have to make to the pattern are significant; for my dh, I have to add 6" to long sleeves and 9" to pants to fit his 6'5" person, but I usually have to use the Medium size, as the patterns tend to be very wide. Since I use his favorites to fit the new pattern, he doesn't have to stand for fittings, and I can surprise him with finished, fitted garments.
