   How we dolled up for everything!  I remember my mother making us "get dressed" to go shopping at the local mall.

   Yes! You're so right. I remember my Mother saying: "I'll just go and get dressed" when she was already fully dressed, of course. My kids fall about howling at some pictures of my Mother and me - the kind taken in the dark ages by those photographers in the street who'd hand you a little card so you would hopefully go to their shop and buy copies. Hats and gloves! I kid you not....for a trip to town.

   Of course! And I lived in sunny Southern California, so it wasn't due to the weather!

   I have a photo taken by one of those 'street photographers' of my ex-husband and myself out shopping for the engagement ring.  I was dressed in a summer dress. It was in the olden days of 1967......LOL
