Pfaff 2058 or Bernina Artista
Hi All,
I’m searching for a machine to do basic sewing, like costumes and hemming pants, but also to do some upholstery work. I doubt I’ll work in leather, but I want something tough enough to handle good upholstery fabric. I have a 40 year old Elna Supra that I love, but it is really struggling these days and, after having taken it in for work several times this year, I think it needs a break.
I was convinced I needed a Bernina 440 Qe, but when I tried it out at the store, I realized it’s far too much machine for me. The ARtista models seemed to be more my speed, but maybe not as sturdy or tough?
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Kristin

I'm a confirmed Pfaff user/owner/enabler. The Integrated Dual Feed/built-in walking foot is totally indispensable and I stitch with it all the time.
Ditto on the Pfaff with it's built-in dual feed I think it can't be beat! I, too, am a confirmed Pfaff user/enabler :-)
