    Hi Mika,

What do you need help with?  Do you own or have access to a sewing machine and know how to use it?  Have you ever done any sewing?  Do you need help with selecting a pattern?  Please indicate what you need help with.  What type of fabric did you buy?  How much?  What are you interested in?

Kwik Sew is a pattern company that makes some really basic skirts. I'd start with something that has elastic in a casing waist. there is less fitting for a beginner to cope with. and maybe a loose pullover top with raglan sleeves.

stay away from knits for the beginning, use wovens that drape and flow. Pick fabric you adore, it makes the chore more fun.

after that goes well, you can try a zipper or buttons or set in sleeves.

And consider a book,  Vogue Sewing or the Reader's Digest Book on sewing; both are good all around books on sewing. Hope you have fun sewing.

Mika,  If your fabric is drapey, you will probably have good luck with Butterick See&Sew 6978.  Follow the attached link.  This is pretty straight forward.

You can save the jacket for another time.  But it also looks very straight forward and shouldn't be very difficult.  I don't know how your area is for getting sewing supplies but any brand with a similar pattern will do.  If you are busty a top with a dart will fit better and darts aren't really very difficult.  Keep us posted on your selection and ask questions.  At this point it is hard to give advise since you haven't really started yet.

        Best of luck.

How goes the dress? I'd love to hear how your project is coming along. Do you need anymore help?
