When you have written your message - before you do anything else - move down the page and click "attach files" and then follow instructions. When you "browse" you just need to select the pics you want and attach them 1 by 1.
Mind u - I don't alwayas get it right re. size of picture. Someone better at it than me will probably advise you how to check this!

In the attached word document I have illustrated how you can upload any document to this forum.

    Steps are

At the bottom of this message window are several buttons Post.....Attach Files....Cancel

When you press Attach File another menu comes up

Press Browse. Another panel comes up with your document names and folders. Get to the document you wish to upload

Once you have pressed the Insert button on your last panel,  press Upload

In my case this file is screedump.doc and in my slow computer it can take up to 30sec before the name of the file you uploaded appears at the bottom of that panel.

Click the Done button if sure or Browse for more documents to upload till you are done

See post 8802.9 further down for iluustration

Shout again if it's not clear

Thank you for going to the trouble of attaching this doc file.

Unfortuantely, not all members can read .doc files.

Uploading files in .pdf files are best as all computers have adobe installed.

I was looking for my post regarding 'posting pictures' when your message was added.

I did not repeat my message as it is 'spamming' the forum.

And I haven't had time to re-direct members to my posting.

FYI, Office Works has a download that will convert text files to PDF files. Ran into that problem the other day when I tried to put some info onto printable sheets for everyone. So I went into the help menu and it directed me to the website to a download that would convert my file to a PDF. Then everyone could open it. Cathy

To Cathy ,that info. is just what I needed for Rekha's message to open and many other's in other emails that send doc. file . I download the software that enables this if one does not have word installed on their pc . siama

I used to do that when my computer was young and frisky.

Now Adobe sits on the external hard drive and it's bind to plug the USB on and then wait till her majesty Adobe comes on.

But yes I will bear that in mind

You can also see that my knowledge of software is getting dated.

Rekha, I only stumbled across that one by accident! I am a complete goof when it comes to most computer stuff. My DD3 usually does the photo uploads and stuff for me as she is my photo whiz and wants to be a photographer and has the Adobe editing stuff and all that. Myself, I learned WordPerfect Waaaaay back when, and still prefer it and get lost in Word. Our ancient computer literally went up in smoke only about 9 months ago, and I am only just now getting the hang of the stuff on the new one. A big jump from Windows 98 to Vista! I still have not found a couple of vital files that I have misplaced somewhere by misfiling somehow. (my resume being one of them) Cathy

Your message with links to dump have evaporated. Where are they?

Sorry Rekha, I did not post links. I don't know how to do that very well. What I did was go into my Microsoft Office online help For help with saving the file into a different format, and there was a download available for saving text files as PDF files. Cathy

Deleted the word doc and was hoping that I would get a drop down menu for attach a .pdf document.

Sorry, but here is the .pdf doc

Actually another method is much easier for me:

      print out the word doc

scan the printed doc and save as jpg

Voila! This wouldn't require you to wait for Adobe Reader to open.
