We have added on a 1000 sq foot two storey addion . I am very concerned about the sound transmission between the first and second stories. Does anyone have any suggestions to keep to noise generated be contained to their level?
Whatever answers or resouces you could recommend be much appreciated.

I think you meant to post this in one of the other forums. This is the Threads sewing forum. :)
Well, the sewing method of decreasing sound transmission between floors would be to pad the walls, ceiling and floor with lots of fabric... This is why all of us sewers have a stash of fabric - so that we can pad the interiors of our houses to quiet down outside noises... At least that's one of the excuses I've tried to use on my husband....
A nice stash of fabric along an exterior wall also makes good insulation.
Ooh! I'll have to move my stash to the outside wall. Think of the savings in utilities!
Last night as my husband removed the ceiling tile in our basement to check if the dishwasher leak had damaged the floor, I had this fleeting image of him pushing aside part of my fabric stash instead of the insulation. Great idea. I have lots more room than I ever thought.
