Printing on Fabric

spicegirl | Posted in Equipment and Supplies on

There is a two part article you should read before using your printer to print on fabric.  The article is entitled Fabric Sheets for Inkjet Printers and appeared in issues 389 an 390 of Quilter’s Newsletter Magazine, or you can get information on the author’s web site – Soft Fabric Photos.

Bottom line, the best results were achieved using Electric Quilt Printables Cotton Satin Fabric Sheets, 240 thread count.  You should be able to purchase this product at your local sewing shop, or there are various places on-line, such as eQuilter.

I’ve tried the Bubble Jet products.  The manufacture does state that the print will fade when washed or subjected to sunlight.  I plan on using this product and a spray-on UV fabric protector for art quilts that won’t be washed.
