I took the plunge and went for the free patterns. See what I get before sending payment online. www.printsew.com

I have given my email address etc, to receive a free pattern. Top menu FREE

An email came in: I was given a password, which i changed once i was logged in, had to download some extra ‘advanced printer’ programme. Set up my printer and paper choice.

I clicked on the free pattern i wanted. waited for their email to come in and then logged in to the site, went to ‘my patterns’ and printed them out.

The Lekala patterns are custom fit: using your height, bust, waist, and hips. I had to wait a while , about an hour, for the pattern to become available.

The Simplicity Dress is the standard sizes as you see on their packets. (6-14) etc.

The Simplicity Dress was 35 pages. Now I have the fun part of glueing them together. The sheets are clearly labelled in columns and rows.

I have printed out all the free available patterns, to my size, online yesterday, I do not know if the free patterns change.

When I have done that, I will write some more.

I haven’t printed out patterns this way before so it is a learning experience.

Hi!  I can't wait to hear what you think of them!  It sounds like a great idea, can you download the pattern to disk and take it to a shop for them to print it on larger paper?  Mary

Mary, I hadn't thought of saving to a disc. I just let the programme do it's thing. I still have the downloads in the 'my patterns' section on my log in/account page. I will have another look and see if i can save each page to file. I will let you know! CherryPops

Just thought it might save you some work, or maybe you know someone who has large print capability.  Ah, something else we could do together if we lived closer, such is life.  Hubby has the mondo scanner printer but I haven't used it yet.....Mary

Thanks for the thought, like i said i didn't think of it!

If i want any pages larger than A4 I give to hubby and he prints out at work. That reminds me I have to give him the SureFit Designs (similar to lutterloh). His mum gave the set to me but her friend wants a copy. I am not giving back the originals!

logged back into the site, tried saving each drawing (pattern page) no go!. the site is set up to disallow any right clicking then saving of diagrams.

I can scan all printed pages and save to file. at least i will have a backup copy if my pc dies and use it (disc) for printing files later. will do that when Thomas is back at school. The scanner is attached to 'his' computer now, my old desktop. I now have my new laptop/notebook (sewing, ebay, nutrimetics access) and the older desktop is for Thomas, set up with two log in names so I can access household files etc which he doesn't need, but allows him access to his school website and mathematics site (homework) and his cd rom games.

Looks like I am going to do that extension to my house so I can cater for all you gals when you visit me . I'd love it!
