Professional Buttonholes

Does anyone own a commercial buttonhole machine?
These make keyhole shapes and cut the cloth at the same time. I wondered if they are worth the price.

    Hello Marguerite

I own a Bernina Artista 180 sewing machine, and I find that you can get a nice (keyhole) buttonhole if you use the manual buttonhole feature of the machine because you can control where you cut the keyhole. This takes a bit of practice, and impossible to explain in just writing! If you can justify buying an industrial buttonhole machine, then go for it - this will give you the best result, however. Trust me on this one because I am a professional tailor!
