Putting fake fur in the dryer to cut down on fuzzies

catyfaver | Posted in Fabric and Trim on

I bought a couple yards of fake fur (very short) for my Halloween costume over the weekend during Hancocks big sale. As they were cutting my fabric my friend commented that it was going to be super fun having to deal with all the fuzzies from cutting the fabric. The employee told me she puts faux fur in the dryer (WITHOUT heat) for 20 minutes and it drastically cuts down on the ammount of fur that comes loose when cutting out the pattern. Before I do this to my beautiful sequined black fur I wanted to see if anyone else had tried this and what results they got. I don’t want to destroy my fabric, but I have cream colored carpet.
