Is their any way to shrink pre-washed rayon? What happens if rayon is put in the dryer?

No way to find out except to try it! I machine-wash just about every fabric I buy, because I don't want any surprises later on.

If you have enough fabric, cut out a square about 8"X 8". Pink the edges. Trace it on a piece of cardboard or sturdy paper, and then wash and dry the fabric the way you'd like to (it will dry fast). Lay your newly-clean sample out and see if it has shrunk, and if you like the way it looks. You will now have enough info to make a decision.

*As one who also pre-washes just about every fabric, I've never had a serious problem with rayon shrinking. (I wash in cold water and dry on the lowest heat setting.)But what has been a problem, a few times, has been that the dye wasn't colorfast. This seems more prevalent with rayon than with, for instance, cotton. So when I pre-wash rayon in cold water, I do it not with detergent but with a cup of salt in the wash water and a cup of white vinegar in the rinse. A fabric store clerk recommended this, and since then I've never again had a problem with colors running.
