QUCK TO MAKE SCARF

Q1 | Posted in Feedback on Threads on

THREADS # 109, PAGE78.  Is there something missing from the instructions?  When I turn the scarf right side out, it does not look like the picture in # 5.

I made this scarf and it turned out well. Can you describe how your scarf looks?

I wonder if in step 4 you might have sewn the wrong parts together?  From reading the directions, that seems a little trickier.  You have to sew the plain to the patterned just to the eye seam from step 2.  And you do that twice.  Now you should have one bicolored tube from the bottom to the eye seam and another tube around the eye opening, half as wide and two different colors lengthwise.  If there weren't an eye seam, you'd just sew up each side of the scarf and turn it right side out.  Then you could press it with seams in the middle, not on the edge.  That's really what they're doing except they've introduced the cute little opening to pull the end through.    rjf

Sorry that you have had trouble with the pattern.  I made up several for this past season and had no trouble.  Once you work it out, you can put one together in about twenty minutes.  I made them out of all manner of fabrics.  I used polar fleece for some of them.  They are really warm.  Good luck.
