i bought metal coil boning that is too long for practical use how can i shorten it without it scratching and poking through lining? also how do i estimate the amount of fabric i need if i shir with elastic thread?

    Interestingly I was discussing metal coil boning with a supplier yesterday. It can only be cut with a special, and quite expensive tool. We tried and failed to do it with ordinary pincers. Once you have got it cut the ends are capped with special metal caps. I think that may involve a special tool too.

    In other words, it probably is not worth doing unless you intend to use an awful lot of boning!
