Ragtime quilt

kayrosie | Posted in General Discussion on

Okay I really think my brain has gone to sleep. I am making a ragtime quilt (the seams are on the outside), I have each of the rows done, and now sewing them together, how do I hold the seams so they will stand up and fray also.    I tried one to one side and other but didn’t  work.  What is wrong with me.  I tell you my brain is on vaccation.

The ones I've seen are sewn with the wrong sides togeather with the batting cut about a half inch or inch smaller and sandwiched in between the two layers of flannel or loosely woven fabric then they will fray when you wash it.  Hope this helps,  Mary
