My 3-year-old was recently a flower girl in a wedding, and the tulle on her dress ripped during the reception. Any suggestions about how I can repair it? Glue? Sewing? Replacing the tulle would be very time consuming because of the way the dress was made. I know it will never look like new again: I guess mostly I just want to prevent it from getting worse. Thanks.

I have "repaired" tulle with clear nylon monofilament thread. I don't remember what the project was, that is going to pester my mind now until I do remember! Anyway, I sewed it by hand. The thread is usually available at JoAnns and such stores.
Thanks, Elisabeth!
randommixer: you can also repair the tulle with silk thread in a matching color, sewn by hand. Where exactly is the dress ripped?

Hi Mimi,
It's ripped in the right center of the top overlay piece. It's not so noticeable because the dress is so full, but it's vulnerable to getting more ripped. I don't want the repair to make it look worse, and I don't want the rip to get worse.
randommixer: if you can "butt" the two pieces together and then sew a fine whipstitch, you might be able to pull this off. I hope so, those kinds of dresses are so precious!
Good luck!
mimi
what about repairing it in the below methods and then stitching on random daisies or something that will cover the tear.
