Hi All, I am looking for a little bit of guidance. I am in need of a new sewing machine and while I would love a higher end machine but with 3 in college and other things that type of expense is not something I want to incur.
Any suggestions would be welcome. My aim is to have a good solid machine with a few extra fun stiches. Also one of my daughters quilts and is wanting expand her sewing experience. One aspect that is important is a machine that can sew fine fabrics as that seems to be one of the biggest issues I have found in using machines.
Thanks for any input.

Hi there. There are so many nice machines on the market today and I do recommend testing as many as you can and bring different fabrics with you to test. I also could not afford one of the high end machines and I wanted a work horse plus many fine stitches that I could program. I already had a stand alone embroidery machine. My work horse is a mechanical Pfaff with the dual feed. My pretty stitches machine is a Janome made computerized Kenmore but I am also finding it is a workhorse. It has a 7 piece feed dog system and feeds almost all fabrics well and it has the wider stitch width that my Pfaff does not have. I really could not choose between the two machines but the cost for both machines on sale was much less than the price of one high end machine. Good luck to you in choosing a machine that you love.
Thank you so much for the information. I will do what you suggested.
