Riccar Rotary Hook w/ Dual Belt Drive???

mcdougallj | Posted in Equipment and Supplies on

A local vacuum and sewing machine dealer in my neighborhood only sells Riccar and Yamata sewing machines.  The dealer is reputable and performs warranty service onsite.  I am interested in a Riccar with rotary hook and dual belt drive, but am having a difficult time finding information comparing Riccar to other better known brands.  I perform basic sewing on an occasional basis.  Has anyone had positive or negative experience with the Riccar, or have an opinion as to how Riccar’s quality/reliability stack up to better known brands?

Many thanks.

The Riccar was the first machine I bought for myself. It was recommended by a well respected, pfaff dealer-I never had a lick of problem with it-and only traded in when I traded up-as it was a simple machine. It replaced a very badly made Singer in the 1970's.
