The pockets on the newer ready to wear jeans are decorative, not functional. I find it difficult to carry a purse, and I love my old jeans with deep pockets for wallet, cell phone, etc. I would like ideas on the best way to make the pockets on these newer jeans deeper. Thanks ahead of time.

Lengthening Pocket Bags
Open the ends and a couple inches up the sides of the pocket bag. Fold a piece of muslin for the extension. Attach to the open end of the pocket bag, sewing across the bottom of the bag first and then the sides.
Or, you may find pocket replacements with the notions in your favorite fabric store and cut these to fit the bottom of the jeans pocket.
