Riding breeches — pattern or cuttin…

Has anyone seen a pattern for riding breeches for kids. I checked Simplicity and McCalls and didn’t see one. Alternatively, I can buy ladies’ breeches at a used clothing store, Can you cut down pants from size 27women’s to size 8 child, or is it impossible to get the crotch low enough. Thanks in advance.

*Thanks for links. I checked it out and they have breeches in the correct size ... but... I was really hoping I could buy a pattern in the local store. I've never bought on-line. (Jean, are you i everywhere???)I thought you were a gardener, not a sewer.... Guess you can be both.b :)What about cutting down the ladies' breeches, They're only $20, which, by the time I pay postage, and C$ exchange, it's almost what the pattern will cost me.

*Love the gardens, love to sew and cook....master of nothing, but I stay out of the woodshed. LOL. Re. the cutting down...I know I'm not skillful enough to even begin to contemplate the job. I would think you would have trouble with pockets, and with the rise. I know that's not the answer you are hoping for. Anyone else?? BTW, re. ordering something on-line... after the first time it gets easier. ;)

*Martagon, would you like a Canadian source for Suitability patterns? Try Forever Timeless - 18 Main St, Hillsburgh ON; (519) 855-6507. They have a pattern for Suitability children's riding breeches in their catalogue.

*Hi Karen .. just drove past Hillsburgh today... I have purchased a couple of pair of too-large breeches,. For the price of them ($10 at a second hand store), I could maybe get a pattern, and try cutting them to fit the girls. Thanks for tip.
