Ripping out wooly nylon in a serged seam – help!

Lofty_Sue | Posted in General Discussion on

Much to my chagrin, my decision not to put in a full lining on an activewear project has backfired on me. Now I am undoing the neckline and armhole stitching of a racer-style one-piece rowing suit (aka unisuit) so I can insert a lining for the top half, in between the fashion fabric and the built-in shelf bra.

This requires me to unstitch a lot of serged seam that has wooly nylon in both loopers AND was sewn with swimsuit elastic stretched into the seam.

Any tips on how to do this without going entirely crazy?
