ROCKY MTN. SEW EXPO

MaryinColorado | Posted in General Discussion on

WOO HOO!  I went today and only made it down two isles!  Going back tomorrow with my son and dil who are spending the night tonight.  I should leave my wallet at home!  Yes, I was very naughty and of course spent too much money.  I have alot of new techniques to hopefully learn and most of the supplies for each.

Simple Silk Ribbon Embroidery by Machine by Susan Schrempf is going to be a major challenge!  www.victorianventure.com She demo’d it and it looks wonderful.  Also will be trying her techniques for needlepunch by sewing machine.  Luckily she lives in the area and teaches locally too so if I need help I can contact her!

I got a few patterns with several new techniques to try out that I am looking forward to.  Also saw those demo’d.  From www.fabulousfibers.com  The Bitty Bag#2835 and Fancy Folds Vest #2433 both by Sew Mini Pieces.

New adventures begin!

I'm drooling! I got to go the year I was taking summer school classes at DU, and seriously thought about it this year, but my sister's house is full, and it's a long trip, etc. They do preview many exciting tools and techniques. Tell us more.

My feet are killing me!  tee hee!  I saw a new product that I MUST buy as soon as I find a source.  The artist who helped them develop it was sold out, boo hoo.  It's from Jaquard (the people who make so many wonderful dyes for fiber arts.  It is an adhesive paper backed cotton fabric (preshrunk, tightly woven) that you can paint on and then just peel off the paper backing.  It feels wonderful and she loves it, I can't wait to try it out on some art quilts!

More tomorrow, I'm going to bed!  Mary

Wow! You sound like you're having so much fun. I have to admit I'm a gadget person. When I was there I loaded up on rulers and got an itty bitty book light with a magnifying glass. Are you taking any classes? For your feet, after you've put them up, get some salt and oil and give them a good scrub, then wash in your most enjoyable soap, rinse, dry, coat in lotion, pull on your sox, and sleep tight so you can have another fun day.

Thanks!  Your tip really works well, my tootsies thank you profusely!!!  Mary

oooh, and my toenails are painted a new shade of OPI "purple with a purpose" and my fingernails are OPI "Do you lilac?"  Got paint spatters on them while painting a garden ball.  (Of course it has a faery on it!)  Mary

That's great! Our feet are carry lots of nerve endings and massaging them refreshes the whole body. So, what what kind of a makeover are you giving your garden?

It was a gift from my daughter, I'm just painting the garden ball.

Oh, Mary; this is so exciting.  Thanks for sharing ...and do share more when you have time.  I haven't been to one for way too long now.   So spend away ...for all of us who can't right now.  Most of all, just revel in all the "stuff" and ENJOY!

Am trying to catch up, had to get a new modem.  Mmmmmm, now I can't remember where I left off, sorry!

Did I mention a grommet punch?  The grommets come in several shapes and colors.  I bought a little kit in a purple case with everything I'll need to get started.  Some of the grommets I got are: musical notes, triangles, hearts, ovals, flowers.  Will let you know more after I've had a change to play more.

      I'm so broke!

You know those blue water soluble transfer pens?  Well, I got a white one for use on dark fabrics.  Cool, huh?  Mary
