I had a great challenge last month, I made a kings costume for a play, I used decorator fabrics, which worked great and the reaction of the audience was priceless.

That is a superb costume. Congratulations! I am sure your will be in demand for all future productions!
As a matter of fact most of the period costumes in the BBC Masterpiece Theatre productions are made from decorator fabric. I was able to view the costumes for The Wives of Henry VIII on display at Hampton Court Palace in England a number of years ago and they were spectacular.
While decorator fabric isn't designed for everyday wear, the brocades are perfect for dramatic costumes, and I have seen a very nice casual jacket in a floral-print linen jacket which was a decorator fabric. I have even seen a jacket made from a furnishing fabric from India which is heavy linen with Jacobean style chain-stitch wool embroidery. It was stunning over a linen dress matching one of the threads.
Fabulous! I hope they gave a standing ovations to the costume designer.

Very elegant, too cool.
Great job, what a good looking outfit for a king. Are those decorator fabrics?
