Can you run dupioni through a pleater width wise or must it be length wise?

stretch greatest at lengthwise
Dupioni stretches better lengthwise although it is not a stretchy fabric at all. I really don't see what difference it would make which end you pleat from. you just have to make sure that you control the fraying prior to commencing. Dupioni is quite a sturdy fabric so I don't see it marring in anyway.
