I noticed one post from someone who makes Jewish ritual objects. I would like to see some articles on fine sewing of sacred items, vestments, and worship decorations, from a variety of religious traditions. The book of Exodus reminds us that the first person the bible records as being filled with Holy Spirit was Bezalel the artist, who was gifted and called to make objects for the Tabernacle, most of which were ornamental in nature, valued for their craftsmanship and beauty. I know there are a lot of us out there who, in the tradition of Bezalel, worship through the work of our hands.

Hey Alaskagal
There is a terrific book called Metalwork embroidery or something like that by Jane Lemmon, she does a lot of books focussing on religious embroideries from all denominations
Then there is your library: just do a search on ecclesiastical embroidery, virtually every book I have taken out included Jewish religious work. The one I particularly recommend for patriotic reasons is Canadian Spirit, it covers pretty much the gamut with a chuppa or two and hangings from synangogues and churches. They are all hand worked by groups of parishoners and they are fabulous.
If you get either of the above look for the full colour photo of Jane Lemmon's Energy Frontal it is simply breathtaking!
Regards
L
