Here is what you can do. Take the pictures in your camera as large and with as many pixels as you’d like. Google the following: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx
When it comes up go down the right hand side until you hit Image Resizer. Click on that and download it to your computer. You now will have the capability to very easily change the size of your pics. Once it is on your computeryou are ready to change the pics. Open your picture file and bring up the pic you want to resize. Right click on it. A menu will appear in a box. Click on Resize Image. A window will appear and open. There will be three dots you can change your pic size to. I use the medium and find that works on all the boards I post on. Click the dot on the size you want. Your image will now be resized. You will have in your pic file the original pic and the new one which will say Medium if thats the size you chose.
When you go into Attach Files on your post to post a pic you will see Browse. Click Browse and look for the pic that says medium. Double click on that to fill the box in the window. Click upload, just like you did originally.
If you have any questions let me know.

Another interesting quilt - I like the square-spiral design. Thank you for posting.
this may work...
OK, maddog (your personal thumbnail is intimidating!) how'd you do that?
I dragged the original picture of the quilt
opened it.
cropped it using iPhoto. (on my Mac)
exported it back to the desktop and then attached it to my replythe picture of my dog was easier. ............I just blew in his face
Thank you for the instructions. I have a Mac, too, and use iPhoto, but didn't realize you can click and drag a picture from the webpage and open it. It would be nice to know just exactly what size picture the reserved space on the Gatherings messages page will accept without having to scroll vertically or horizontally. Then we could select the correct size when exporting the photo from iPhoto, before uploading the attachment. Maybe that information's available somewhere on these pages, but I haven't seen it. Is the same format used for Breaktime?I'm still laughing about your dog...My son's yellow lab is staying with us while he's out of town, and she's keeping us in stitches!
...." Is the same format used for Breaktime?"
yes the formats are the same, with the "ideal" size for attachments hovering around 150kb
it just makes it easier for everyone, especially folks on dial-up .............
"Argos" our Dobie is still just a big baby, but he manages to keep us young and gray at the same time..LOL
I size mine down to 600x800 and with my dial up that seems to upload quickly and be a good size for viewing on a post as well.
Thank you. I'll make sure to re-size my photos to that size at most when I export them from my iphoto files.
there is also Irfanview...here is a link to a download, although I have never used it the guys at Breaktime rave about it!http://www.tucows.com/preview/194967
