Sewing Clubs/Societies

I am a moderately skilled home sewer in Chicago and was wondering if there are any clubs or societies for sewing that I might join…if anyone has any information, or is willing to join me to share projects, ideas, whatever, please let me know!

Thanks!

I'd suggest that you go to Home Sewers Association and then click on American Sewing Guild. There should be a chapter and neighborhood groups for your area and this should give you a contact point to start.

*I was trying to find "the Home Sewers Association" as you said and I only found info about water, utilities, etc.!!!!Wish the word wasn't spelled the same. I don't like being called a "sewer", in the written form. And I don't usually become "stressed" by doing seams, as in seamstress. How about we begin calling ourselves "SEWIST"? as in artist, pianist? These terms show that they are specialists at what they do.

*You'll find the Home Sewing Association at http://www.sewing.org.
