Hi Wanda (and other MVians),
I’ve also found the folks at the Stitching Post a bit snotty, and I don’t find their class offering exciting enough to go down there. To be fair, I don’t really like classes, and I’ve got three young children, and a class has to be very exciting to drag me away from them.
Locally, I buy fabric at Joann’s in Beavercreek, the quilt shop in Beavercreek, the Fabric Shack in Waynesville, and the Stitching Post. Most of my sewing is for the kids or for elderly relatives, so the fabric offerings are OK for my needs now. Eventually, though, I would like to sew more clothes for myself, and then I’ll want better apparel fabrics.
I’m in Yellow Springs, and there are two things I would really like to see: a fabric store here in the village that emphasized high quality apparel fabrics and handspun, handwoven and hand dyed products of the local artists here. I would also really like to see a sort of sewing studio group that would give people a chance to share ideas and learn from each other.

Amy, Your interests for the YS area are wonderful. I'd certainly like to know more about how the sewing group evolves, and most likely would like to be a part of it, as 'I am right down the road' (local lingo) in Xenia, and I just finished my graduate work at Antioch University McGregor last March!!
Now, I ask is this the appropriate venue for us MV's to communicate? I remember that Sewing World had forums specifically for people from certain geographic communities. Is this the case with The Gatherings Forum?
