Sewing long row of covered buttons

marieclown | Posted in General Sewing Info on

Does anyone have any tips for sewing a long row of covered buttons onto sheer fabric.  Think wedding dress style down the back of the dress.  I know how to make the buttons, but am not so sure about how to make the loops on the other side.  How do I make them all even, what to make them out of, etc. Thanks

the button loops are available from newark dressmaker supply (they have a web page & a catalog) and most probably Steinlauf & stoller, & Greenberg & hammer, & M&J trimmingin NY all carry the button loops - I know that M&J and Steinlauf & stoller both have websites - I love Steinlauf & stoller. They are a funky but lovely place they are really really good guys. They have been very helpful & kind to me. I am not related to them but a very happy customer. They won't be snooty to you if all you buy is one spool of thread.
