Sewing Machine comparison

Comparison shopping. Bernina 180 Special Edition vs Husqvarna Viking Designer I. Anyone having these machines I would appreciate knowing what made you choose your specific machine. I do a lot of dressmaking and am relatively new to the embroidery machines but am anxious to buy one or the other.

Hello Faith, The sewing circle I belong to has over 200 years sewing experience combined. We are of the opinion that Bernina machines are the best on the market and seem to be designed for dressmaking. I would caution you that you should feel comfortable with the dealer and their knowledge of the machine. Also, classes should be offered from the dealer at no additional cost to the buyer to learn how to use the machine. One additional consideration... don't buy a machine with a bunch of bells and whistles if you truly cannot imagine using them. In the end, you may wonder why you didn't purchase a more basic machine as some of us have found out. Good fortune in your search and happy sewing!
