Sewing machine needles

sand69 | Posted in Teach Yourself To Sew on

I am new to the sewing world. A friend of mine wants me to finish a silk blouse for her that was started by someone that has passed on. I need to know what size needle I should use for the machine. I only have 4 sizes in my stock right now. They are 14/90 Ballpoint; 14/90; 16/100; and 11/75. Which one would be best to use?

Thank you in advance for your help.

The 11/75 if it is a sharp point.  Definitely not the 16 or the 14 ballpoint.  Try it out on a scrap if you have one.  Sounds like you need to invest in some new needles. I probably have at least 100 of them in different sizes for different fabrics.

I agree the 11/75 would be best.  I change needles with each new project.  And since each fabric seems to call for a different needle type, I have lots of them on hand.  Good luck with your project !!
