My Elna 9000 has finally died and I am purchasing a new machine. I am considering the Babylock Designer’s Choice or Quilter’s Choice. Has anyone had experience with either of these machines. Also the Pfaff electronic (can’t remember the name). I do general sewing and machine quilt piecing.

Condolences on loss of your "loved one".
What one sew-er likes on a particular brand or model may not be what someone else likes.
I have an Elna Pro Quilter's Dream and a Babylock Ellegante (combination sewing and embroidery).
I like both machines very much and bought them from the same dealer, who by the way no longer sells Elna.
I bought my machines based on dealer satisfaction. The Babylock model that I have has a few more sewing features than the Elna, but it also cost a lot more. Mostly due to the embroidery component.
Make a list of what you would like in a machine. Knee lift presser foot is a key feature that has become second nature to me when I sew.
Take your list and visit the dealers.
Test the machine and the dealer. If you sew heavy materials - take a swatch with you to see how the machine handles tough jobs.
Buy the machine you like best from the dealer you like best.
Best wishes in your search.
