Sewing on the edge of Mt Everest in Nepal

lilaspastia | Posted in General Discussion on

My son, Grayson Schaffer just spent the last 6 weeks at the base camp at Mt Everest, reporting for Outside Magazine on the climbing season there. On his way hiking to base camp, he encountered this tailor sitting on the ground using a hand-crank sewing machine making winter jackets. I taught Grayson how to sew when he was 10 years old so it is no surpise that that this tailor caught his attention. So Grayson made a delightful video of the tailor and posted it to his magazine’s website: Outsideonline.com. You can see it there if you put “tailor of everest” in the search box or you can follow this link. Tell me what you think.
