I am starting to make the Kwik Sew twisted top pattern in a double layer of mesh. I have made thuis top before and it fits well but I havent made it in mesh . I want to use a double layer in the front and back piecesfor modesty purposes and am in a quandry as to whether to treat the double layer as one or whether I should sew them together at the neck and around the armhole but keep the hems separate . The sleeves are going to be a single layer.I am also wondering if a serger rolled lettuce edge or a zig zag lettuce edge is best . I would value your opinion.

I can't give you an opinion regarding the serging techniques, but I think the hems being loose and separate would look great. Laying of sheers is fashionable right now and is very airy looking. But I guess it would also depend on whether you plan on tucking the blouse in, or letting it out.

It will be loose and so you think that all verticle seams should be separate??
About the lettuce edge... I always try it out on a scrap first, make sure the grain or stretch of your scrap is the same as the 'real thing'. Then you decide which look you prefer. I like to use "wooly" in the upper looper when making a lettuce edge, sometimes in a contrasting color!
Happy sewing,
Becky
Thanks its my next project.
