Hi. It probably depends on what you are making and how oftgen it will be worn. My daughter's bridesmaids' skirts were simply lined. Dupioni is not hard to work with and presses easily. Sometimes people hear the word ''''silk" and are afraid of it. I would think that an underlining would help in somethng like a jacket or straight skirt that would be worn often. But it might be too heavy for a blouse.
I would never sew a pair of pants or a straight skirt in Dupionni without underlining in silk organza as it helps keep the wrinkling down and it stregnthens the seams. I use glue stick to hold it in place and that makes it simpler to do and quiker than even iron on interfacing that some people reccomend. It also breathes. I probably would use it to underline a fitted jacket for the same reason.

Also if you are using the dupioni for a fitted bodice or other fitted garment I would always line it as the lining then is there to take the stress of wear off of the silk especially at the seams. I absolutely love working with it and would sew with it if I could find a real cheap source for quality silk.
