Is anyone else having trouble getting into Sewing World Discussion or is it just my computer?

Doris, I haven't been able to get in since Friday nite. It has gone down before just a couple weeks ago, came up again the next day, but I had to re-register.

Thanks for answering. Now I know that it's a problem with their server.

I haven't been able to get in either. Got a message about an "internal error," which I copied and sent to the webmaster, but have received no reply.

SW is an interesting board, and I really hate it when it goes down for long periods. Sometimes it seems that there is NO webmaster.

Welcome Sewing World folks! It's good to see y'all again (we love it when you stop by when SW is down :)

Hope you enjoy the new Gatherings format. And be sure to let us know if there's anything we can do to keep you coming back!

        Cheers!

Rita, I hang out here as much as at SW. Love both sites. I'm looking over all the Forums here, I love the guys b------g about the new format! I just want to say GET OVER IT! Stuff changes, I think women are more adaptable to change. I have moved 26 times in 35 years with 5 children in tow, because of my husband's job, and this is back and forth across the country, would a guy do that for a woman's job? But, I looked at it as learning a lot about people and regions. I didn't mind it TOO much, but I sure don't miss it now.

Thanks for your input to me. Dorothy

            Howdy Dorothy!

I'm glad the Gatherers have taken to the new forums like sewers to fabric! This new company has a lot to offer that we haven't even begun to tap into. We're hoping that over time, as we're able to implement more of the new features, more folks will think it was a move worth making. And at least we can promise we won't move you another 26 times over the next 35 years!

            Cheers*

Rita, I thank you for not moving me again! About the new format...I just started 'surfing the net' about 2 months ago. I decided to research a new sewing machine, and the 'net is so-o-o helpful, what did we do before it? So, in my looking around I have seen many different web sites. I am so glad I found you and SW. I am still getting used to your new look but I think I like it. I certainly would not stomp my foot and say I'm never coming back! Think of all the good stuff I'd miss!!

I will certainly keep coming back, I look around here every day, and like what I see. Thanks for 'inviting' me. Dorothy

Sewing World was on for a few hours last night and it's back to the Internal Error message.  They are definitely having problems.  I really enjoy Sewing World because of its ease of use and wide acceptance by so many sewers.  I hope Threads Gatherings takes off and more Sewing World folks start using it.

I got in around 1pm PST today, and was happily reading messages when all of a sudden, as I clicked on a new one, I got the internal error message again. And it happened to every one after that, so I guess the board is down again for a while.

I don't know enough about the way these things are set up to understand what is going on, but it sure is frustrating.

        Rita:

Thanks for "reading" us. We do appreciate all we get from Taunton and its Threads! I've headed a board in SW all year, thanking you (Threads committee) for tolerating the SW-ers who come over here every year to keep glued together till the internal (infernal?) errors are repaired over there with Krista and Scott.

As someone else just noted, a few of us are regular "readers" if not contributors to Gathering the year 'round. I have noticed Elona is, as am I. I think this new format of yours is going to make new chums among all of us. After seeing a name pop up with regularity one really feels good vibes there.

So, I'm hoping I will remember to visit once in a while and let the contributors know we're noting them, and maybe add a question or suggestion.

Hi and good-bye All. Amo from "Threads Readers Among Us" in the SW.
