Shirt box and cello bags, where to find?

georgegabriellecouture | Posted in General Discussion on

Where can you find shirt box and cello bags (you know the one that they usually use to put men’s shirts in)? I am looking for the brick and mortar stores. Does walmart have them? Thanks in advance 🙂

For local brick and mortar store, how about checking your local phone directory's Yellow Pages under Packaging Materials? Are you looking for wholesale or retail? There are a number of sources online, here's one:

    Hi Craftymomma,

I know that Wal-Mart has shirt boxes, expecially around the holidays. They do sell the cello for baskets, like Easter baskets, but you would have to seal it yourself.

Walmart has it? Great :) Do you happen to know what department it is in? Is it in the gift wrappers isle? I know walmart has the cello, like you said, I do need to seal it my self. It comes in a roll. I am looking for the cello bag, the one the use to put new men's shirt in. Thank you so much for the info Marcy, now I know where to get the shirt boxes :)

You can sometimes find the shirt boxes in Longs or RiteAid in the gift wrap section. The cello bags, however, are usually at fabric/craft stores or at party goods stores in the "party favors" section.

I just saw the shirt boxes at our Wal-Mart.  They were in the Christmas box section on the top shelf where the garden items used to be.  That's where they put the Christmas stuff when it comes out.  Hope you find them at your place.

Darn it, no wonder I couldn't find it today :(

O.K, I'll check it out again next weekend. Thanks for the info :)

since i boycot walmart and riteaid, i'll recommend target, walgreens and the various dollar stores for the plain foldable shirt boxes.
depending on the size of your town, you may have a store that supplies retail clothing stores with such items. the cello bags at craft stoers that i've seen are generally smaller, suitable as candy and party favor holders, but not big enough for a folded shirt. if all else fails, buy a roll of clear celophane at a place like Party City and just fold into a packet and tape with the crystal clear scotch tape (not the frosted kind).

check with formalwear rental stores too, to see if they'll sell you shirtboxes. i believe they use them for shipping.
