Hi i was wondering if anyone can help me to discover why my button up front shirts ride up and feels like someone from behind has grabbed me by the collar and pulled back… what kind of alterations would i need to do to overcome this problem…
any help would be truly appreciated
thanks

What type of shirt? button down, pull over? all types? knit?
and a rather personal question, how large is your bust? How erect is your posture? do you have prominent shoulder blades in the back? All of these factors can affect the hang of the shirt. Do you have very forward shoulders? rounded shoulders? this is often the cause, the back is not long enough in the neck area from the mid armscye up to the shoulders and causes the front to pull up, the shoulder seams will ride back from where they belong.
good ideas from heartfire. could also be that the bust is too snug and too high. without seeing you, i'd suggest comparing it to a shirt that fits you well.
There was a very clear discussion of this problem on the forum about a year ago; if you try an advanced search with the same words, you'll probably find it and benefit from a number of very good explanations.
Thanks everyone for your input... i have a 36" bust and small rounded shoulders... it is only with the cotton button up front shirts that i have a problem with... i will check out the advanced search on the post from a year ago to see what that says too...
