Today I purchased some silk noil and plan to use it for the Mimosa Top & Pants, black pants and magenta top. Should I interface the fabric for the pants with fusi-knit prior to cutting out the pants? I don’t want the seat and knee areas to get baggy or mishapen.

Personally, I would underline the pants in silk organza. It is extremely light weight and won't change the hand of the silk noil, and will prevent it from bagging out or excessive wrinkling. I would then line the the pants in a bemberg lining (it's rayon and breathes).

silk noil
Thanks, Kate! I'll order the silk organza and the bemberg. I want to prewash the noil. My front loader HE washer has a handwash cycle that is very gentle and does not spin. I thought I would use a tiny bit of Orvus soap. Your thoughts?

Dana;
The silk noil is washable, however there will be some shrinkage even in cold water. To minimize the shrinkage I would just put the fabric thru a rinse and spin cycle, since it is the action of the agitation rather than the water itself that causes the shrinkage. Also be sure to over the raw edges os noil as it will ravel. You can also use this procedure on the organza and bemberg. As for drying, an 'air only' cycle should do just fine. Happy sewing!
