I can’t get my needle to go in the machine correctly the eye is facing me that is the only way it will go in and i don’t know if i need to change something im just starting this I’ve never sewn before trying to teach myself . my mom passed away and i wish I had learned how to sew .

There are lots of great YouTube videos you can watch for inserting needles in singer machines. I will say, the flat side of the head (not the eye) of the needle faces the machine when going in. The roused side faces towards you.
