Skin tone fusible interfacing

Elaray | Posted in General Discussion on

i watched Sew Much More on DIY Network on Mon. 5/10/04. The guest, Lisa Shepard demonstrated the use of skin toned facings and interfacings to make seam allowances and facings “disappear” when sewing lightweight, light colored fabric. She was using a brown fusible interfacing. Unfortunately, I missed the beginning and end of the show where she might have shared where to purchase skin toned fusible interfacing. If anyone knows where to find fusible interfacing in colors other than white or black, I would greatly appreciate it.

The product you're looking for is Sheer Magic, made by HTC. Try a Google search on HTC Sheer Magic for more places that sell it. I've seen it in three shades of beige and brown.

Lisa Shepard putblished an article on this very topic in Threads, No. 96, pp.50-53, with a number of other tips for sewing non-see-through garments.

I actually remember seeing that article in Threads! I just didn't have a chance to search for it. Thanks so much, Carol.
