I just made a test pattern (thank heaven) of Vogue #7051, a Koko Beal dress. The sleeve set into the bodice beautifully. However, when I put it on, I realized the sleeve appears twisted, as if the entire thing needs to be rotated toward the back. After consulting my sewing bibles, I did just that – re-adjusted the ease to the back. The “bible” says a 1/4 inch adjustment should do it. I would need to rotate a good inch or more, and by then, there would be way too much fabric on the back of the sleeve cap to lie smoothly in the armscye. Any ideas? I love this pattern, and it otherwise fits like a dream. HELP!

I think I read somewhere that the sleeve cap should be no more than one and a half inches larger than the armsyce. And if it isn't it should be made smaller by taking a fold in the top of the cap on the pattern itself and then recut.
Hope this helps.
