I would like information about making a slip cover for a window seat pad. The shape is rectangle, the pad is 2″ thick. It will have a slip cover in draper lining and then a print fabric slip cover. I thought about cutting the top and bottom fabrics (rectangle) and then the sides and end pieces and sew them all together. Put the foam pad inside and hand sew one end together. The print fabric would have piping around the top and bottom fabric. This pad will be strapped to the top of a cedar chest.
Questions: Should I cut the slip cover (draper lining) in one large piece sew together and insert the two ends? Or would it be better to cut the individual pieces and sew them together, like I plan to do on the outer cover. I don’t know if there were articles in old Thread magazines or have their been articles about how to make slip covers? Please give me some input. I know there must be many people that have made slip covers and I REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR HELP.
