Just finished another bag! This one is from McCall 4884, view B. However I changed it so much it really is just a smaller version of View C, the large drawstring bag I recently finished.
The fabric is an acetate upholstery that I checked and it does not watermark like most acetates. I figure it has a Scotchguard type finish as most upholstery does. It didn’t even stain with FrayBloc. I used this for the outer and lining fabric. The patches are poly brocade scraps from Joanns. I really wanted a soft kind of washed out brown and blue coloration and that’s what I got – washed out! So to jazz it up “a notch” I added a red silk dupioni piping that I made. It is what I call a mini piping. This set off the applique and then I was happy. I also added the chotchkey hanging on the side. It is some odd cords and mother of pearl flower shaped buttons. I hope to make some more bags soon for gifts. This one was a gift for a friend.
