source multidrawer storage ?
Dear All,
I am new to this forum and a displaced person from New Orleans due to Hurricane Katrina. I remember an article where the staqff of Threads listed their favorite tools. One item listed was a multicolored set of drawers on wheels. Can anyone tell me where to order this cart? I am now ready to purchase furniture and would appreciate the web site.
Thank you,
Mobilityplus

Hi, It was available several months ago at Costco. I also saw it more recently....I believe it was at AC Moore, or Walmart.
Dear softfurn,Thank you for your reply. I am in a location without either store nearby nor do I have a car to drive there. Is it possible for you to give me the mail order/web url source that was listed in the article?Thank you

Hi,
There was no resource given for the cart that was pictured in that article but here is a similar one that Dick Blick carries: http://www.dickblick.com/zz512/44/
or here: http://www.paperwishes.com/products/6225
Most of the office supply stores as well as places like Target carry them as well. Sounds like you need someplace that can order on line. Try amazon, you'll find a few will come up if you search for rolling drawer organizer.
mobility plus, I remember the article as it was one of my favorites. I always like to learn of new innovative ways to do things :) I recently purchased the type of drawer unit you are looking for at Lowes. It came with casters, which I don't need right now, so I am keeping them in one of the drawers. It was much cheaper than one of the Art Store carts or Specialty Fabric Store carts, but works just as well. I think all of the Home Center type stores carry some version of them, and they can be ordered online.

I have one of these wonderful carts from Costco. I use the top to hoop machine embroidery.
I just did a search for "12 DRAWER ROLLING STORAGE CART" and located some at http://homestore3.com/12drrostca.html and e-bay has several at http://search.ebay.com/rolling-drawer-cart_W0QQfnuZ1

The manufacturer is Advantus. I was just looking for this myself, I like the multicolored drawers. Seems like many places sell the smoke colored drawer units. One place online that sells the colored ones is http://www.cropperhopper.com
The Container store is the one I had bookmarked, but that's one's for a white cart. The other two sites have multi-color drawer carts on wheels. I see other links have been provided, too, so something should come near what you're looking for. I have two plastic black carts on casters with clear drawers, and they're very handy! Got mine at Meijers.

Target stores have several styles

Ikea also has rolling drawers (although, not colour coded) which I use for sewing.
http://www.ikea.com search for sture which is the style of drawer unit. They will ship according to weight.
The drawers are excellent for storage - they hold enough, but not so much that you end up losing things.
My top drawer is bobbins, markers and tools (screwdrivers, threaders, throat plates and feet)
Next drawer is scissors, rotary blades and snippers
Next is tape measures, rulers, hem markers and templates
Next is needles, pins, bodkins, darners
Next is elastic of all styles, colours and widths, elastic threads
Last is alternate closures - snaps, velcro, hooks

A friend said that Costco just got in those great multidrawer, multi colored carts far cheaper than on line.

I was in the Costco in Citrus Heights yesterday and they had storage carts with different colored drawers.
