Sources for Alencon Lace on the internet
I am trying to find sources for Alencon lace on the internet. It is for a wedding gown – I am adding it for the trim and around the hem – approximately 8 yards. Thanks for any suggestions.

The first places I'd try would be http://www.myvoguefabrics.com
www.sawyerbrook.com, http://www.habermanfabrics.com, http://www.fabricsandbuttons.com/,
www.appleanniefabrics.com, http://www.maryjos.com
and www.denverfabrics.com
Good luck! And when you go to mark it, don't use dressmaker's carbon like I did many years ago! A near disaster....

Thank you so much! I will check them all and see what I find. Thanks!
Try http://www.banksvilledesignerfabrics.com You can send an email with a request. I bought some lace from them and they scanned it and sent me it in an email. Lace is so expensive, most places won't send samples and if they do, you can't see the pattern in the small sample. This worked well as I could see the whole pattern.

Thanks! I knew there was one of the really fine stores I was forgetting and Banksvilles' name just fell out of my brain!Karen
Nancy -- Thanks so much. Isn't it cool that they can e-mail us a photo of lace before we buy it. What did we do before the internet! :-) Thanks!
Actually, when I made a dress for my daughter's Bat Mitzvah, they mailed me a photocopy!
Good luck,
Nancy
