I agree, also.
s[a,
We USED to be able to report these type ads to Threads. I attempted to report the maternity ad the first time it was posted, to no avail. This "new and improved" forum appears to be neither monitored by Threads management nor a direct conduit to that group. Annoying at best......
You can "ignore" posts by
You can "ignore" posts by this user, but that doesn't address the fact that the spam posts aren't getting deleted by the forum moderators. I agree--these inappropriate posts are very annoying.
To "ignore" someone, just click on "Ignore User" at the bottom of their post. Or you can click on "My Profile" on the left side of this page, and scroll to the bottom of that page. Type in the name of the person you want to ignore, and it *should* hide posts from this person.
Yes But
Yes, But, the fact of the matter, is it seems to be is that Taunton reprogrammed this forum and then walked away. Even after all the hoop la and discussion about to to make it easier to use. They seem to, in effect, killed the discussion and a good group. Does anyone check out the other Tauton lists?
I have sent a request
This place is like an abandoned strip mall! I keep telling myself to just give up, but it makes me sick that at the same time the magazine returned to it's former exciting self...they just killed off this wonderful site. I feel SO sorry for people who ask questions and then just wait and wait. There used to be so many people who were terrific at explaining things. And it used to be a really fun place to visit and trade info. Were we really so offensive that they deliberately shooed us away? Has anyone found spell-check on this "new" improved site?
Good Luck
That is exactly what I did the FIRST time that jerk posted her advertisements, some weeks/months ago. I have yet to hear from the Threads staff. I feel as Ralphetta does, this is an abandoned site. They yanked us around with their high and mighty attitude and walked away. A real shame. There were so many wonderful and talented artisians here as well as a plethora of newbies asking for help, but alas, no longer. I miss the old friendships and conversations.
Why have an "inaproprate"
Why have an "inaproprate" (sp?) link if it doesn't get any results. The posts are still there, no aknowledgment that the inapproprate post is being looken into, nothing.
And while on the subject, how come some threads are marked new when there are new posts but other aren't? I have to remember the last time I was here to find out if there are anymore new posts. And even though I have email notification marked nothing is getting sent to me in email at all. Where is the Threads spokesperson that we used to have posting here?
Chris
I got a reply on the 19th Oct from April Mohr. She advised she would forward the request onto the "web manager" who would attend to the "spam" promptly. Icouldn't find it the next day - but I cant usually find anything much in this format - I only go to Recent Topics and if I follow fairly regularly I can sort of follow the few that are there.
I looked up web manager in the search section at the top of this page and couldn't find any one of that title to thank for taking the spam off. I guess that if we have a problem?? ha ha with this site we could all try asking the editor of Threads to take pity on Gatherings and breathe some life into it.
