Must admit, you got me! Guess I will have to watch Martha tomorrow.

I have no idea what the SVP WW is all about, maybe a new show??  I never watch MS or the View, but the other day I accidentally caught a few minutes of the View and RO'D was actually talking about Janome and not bashing someone.  At least one another member of the panel got in about 15 words.

I have also read that sewing is starting to be popular again - it's only taken about 50 years for the re-birth.

Project Runway has sparked a lot of interest in sewing!!!!

That's an interesting conglomerate!  Thanks for the heads up.  Martha Pullen is on Wednesday here.  I have 3 Husq/Vikings and love them all!  Mary

Oooooooooooops!  I just realised you said Martha Stewart!  Oh, I will miss it because I have an appointment, darn.  Hope you all will let me know what they say!  Mary

I just watched it. Martha basically introduced some suits and announced the formation of this conglomerate and how this will allow the technology of sewing to increase and improve more. Then she pushed a button on an embroidery machine and that was about it. She did announce that this afternoon she and this group will have a press conference to announce more. My guess is Martha is getting involved and thats "a good thing". Anything she touches succeeds and this could be a major boost to the sewing world. I think it is wonderful.

Thanks for the information.  I don't watch this show now that it is in a studio with a live audience.   I was so disappointed that the one time I did want to watch,  the show aired here today appeared to be Monday's show.  I think our local CBS affiliate preempted Monday morning and afternoon broadcasts for opening day (Cincinnati).  They go all out with a parade and so forth, and of course it has to be televised........(can you tell that I could care less about baseball).

I did get another announcement from Quilter's Village with more information.  http://www.svpworldwide.com provides more background.  Singer purchased Husqvarna/Viking and Pfaff last year.

I agree that this will probably be a "good thing", not that everyone is interested in MS, but the generated buzz could mean more "good things" for sewers - I hope!

I really look forward to learning all about it.  My daughter in law is hoping for an embroidery machine by next Christmas.  We love our Vikings!  I am keeping my eye on the software developements.

Have a great time at the party!!!  Mary

Can't wait to hear a full report!

This post really interests me.  Sorry I did not find it until after Martha's showtime.  My interest because the only sales  person in my town is the Husk/Viking dealer.  We do have Janome& Pfaff a few miles north.with a newly opened store that I don't know anything about.   However, miles complicate service sometimes.  I always loved my old Singer but can tell that people have been less than happy with the newer models.   My old Singer is presently at the repair shop for a tune up and I can't wait to get it back because it is a workhorse.  Would love to hear more from everyone about this SVP

Months ago, Kohlberg Singer's holding company purchased Pfaff/Viking. The way my dealer explained it all to me is that each company still has machines built to it's specs and the heads of each company sit around the table to make decisions..which probably will now include Martha.

Janome used to make the Viking HuskyStars in Taiwan. Janome also made the Pfaff Grand Quilter and the Viking Mega Quilter. My dealer told me that now the Huskystars are made in China, by one of 4 different companies. I was told by another dealer that Janome will still make some machines for Pfaff but Janome now heads Elna usa. Janome has made Elna's for years along with Sears Kenmores and some other machines. It will be interesting to see if they will continue to make machines for Pfaff/Viking.
